Living in a “post” covid world in which viral cellular damage is being done at a more rapid pace and in many more people than ever before, and especially since covid is the gift that keeps on giving, means that doing things to care for your mitochondria is becoming more important every day. That means that this applies to you even if you don’t have cancer or long covid right now. You’ve probably heard that you don’t really need to worry about all of this as much if you are young (chronologically) and healthy for the most part, but your epigenetic age could be altered and your biological age accelerated by viral infections and well, Covid is a viral infection in which this sure seems to be occurring.
Mitochondrial Dysfunction (substack.com)
Fun facts- Your chances of getting Long Covid are the same now as they were in 2020.
Number of people who have Long Covid- 10% of the world’s population.
Have you nourished your mitochondria today? If so, what are you doing to keep them healthy? Feel free to comment below!
Today we are going to learn about Radical Hope by Kelly A. Turner which is a good book to consider for our summer reading series because it emphasizes that remission isn’t just for cancer:
Real-life stories from survivors of cancer and other diseases who have used the 9 key factors from the New York Times best-selling Radical Remission, with updated research and a tenth key factor revealed. Following the publication of the New York Times best-selling Radical Remission, researcher Kelly A. Turner, Ph.D., has collected hundreds of new cases of radical remissions--from cancer and now also other diseases--from across the globe. In Radical Hope, Turner explores the real-life application of the Radical Remission principles and the people who have chosen to take this journey. Each chapter shares a survivor's in-depth story and their use of one of the ten key Radical Remission healing factors. Turner provides updated scientific research and new tips for each factor and unveils a tenth key factor for integration into your healing approach.

Dr. Turner has analyzed over 1,500 cases of radical remissions, including those using an integrative approach. The findings of her research are summarized in the New York Times and Amazon bestsellers, Radical Remission and Radical Hope. Radical Remission Website
For those of you who prefer podcasts to books, there is a Radical Remission podcast, and you can learn more about what the 10 radical remission healing factors are from this webpage. If you have experienced a radical remission, you can be on the podcast! How awesome would that be to encourage others with your own healing story?

Also, if you would like to encourage someone you know who has just been diagnosed, I have found this very nice care package that includes the book, Radical Hope, as well as some other thoughtful gift items which can be purchased here-

There is even a Radical Remission docuseries to help inspire you, which we love, because that’s how our own story got started. Before my dad was declared to be cancer free by his oncologist, everyone else I had known up to that point who had cancer, had all died from their cancer, so I thought of it as being an automatic death sentence. Hearing about Guy Tenenbaum’s amazing story really helped change my mindset and gave me hope.
None of us were really excited about waiting that long for any of this to take place. The next morning after that phone call from my dad, in which he told us that we were going to stay positive, I turned on the interwebs while my husband and I drank our coffee. The first video to pop up in my recommended watch list was about a man named Tenenbaum who was told he had stage 4 prostate cancer in 2018 and was sent home to die, but he wasn’t ready to die, so he learned everything that he could about beating his death diagnosis, wrote his own cancer protocol, healed his cancer, left death in the dust (for now), and is still alive at the time of this writing.

I really hope that hearing these healing stories will help you and/or your loved one to stay positive and take a more active role in your own healing because,
We can’t just outsource our care to doctors. ~ Radical Remission Docuseries
Sometimes the healthcare system just can’t do everything we want or expect it to, and I think that it took a long illness and the chaos of the Covid pandemic to remind me that as wonderful as modern medicine and science are, they are not perfect and can’t quite guarantee us everything that we would like them to. Looking to the healthcare system first and foremost has become almost automatic for too many of us…..

In other news, the t-shirt lady has struck again! This summer the gifted shirt is red and is about all the chicken babies in my hair which is fitting because another of our free-range hens, surprisingly, just hatched out 3 more baby chicks this past week. Fun! It was a surprise because her Roo disappeared over a month ago and hasn’t been seen since. It may have been a racoon incident, who has since been relocated to a chickenless range far, far, away from this particular chicken ranch.
My friend put the chicken baby’s poem on a shirt for me and gave it to me in person. Could the personalized t-shirt be the new walking greeting card? I think it could be, especially if your greeting card gets pilfered in the mail and the surprise that was in it gets stolen because PSA: mail theft and fraud are on the rise.
Best Wishes!
My name is Stephanie, I can do hard things, and I’m looking forward to sharing some interesting news about sleep, vitamin D, and gut health with you in our next newsletter.
The chicken lady has some babies;
they’re going everywhere,
if she doesn’t watch out,
they are so little;
they will be in her hair.
Have any of you given the creatine that was reported on last time a try?
Creatine is a good supplement option for conditions characterized by mitochondrial dysfunction……
